The Seahawks have four sacks against Dallas, which is one more than they had over the first two games combined. Seattle had ranked 25th entering today in generating quarterback pressure, per ESPN charting. The pass-rush has been there for the first time this season.

The Seahawks are up 17-3 over Dallas after their best half of football -- by far -- this season. A big reason why: Russell Wilson is getting protection (zero sacks) and he's playing more decisively than he did at times over the first two games with a pair of touchdowns. His numbers (12 of 20, 145 yards) would look better had it not been for some drops. The Seahawks are finally feeding Chris Carson (15 touches, 69 yards) and they're converting on third down, going 6 for 10 after entering the game ranked 29th in the NFL in that department.

So much for needing practice. Seahawks safety Earl Thomas, whose status heading into today's game against Dallas was in some question, gets his second interception of the season on a Dak Prescott pass that was tipped by Tre Flowers. It's been an bizarre few days for Thomas. He missed practice Wednesday and Friday even though he was apparently healthy, with Pete Carroll citing an undisclosed personal matter and then ESPN reporting that the team was considering a hefty fine against the All-Pro free safety for conduct detrimental to the team.

Russell Wilson and the Seahawks are very narrow FPI favorites over the Cowboys in Seattle today.

With Doug Baldwin out again today, Tyler Lockett is the Seahawks' de facto No. 1 receiver. Of the team's top six players in terms of receiving yards last season, Lockett is the only one who's still here and healthy. It's a largely new group of pass-catchers for Russell Wilson.

Seahawks safety Earl Thomas is active for today's game against Dallas. His status had been in some question after he missed two practices last week amid curious circumstances, with the team listing his absences as not injury-related and Pete Carroll calling it a personal matter. ESPN reported Sunday morning that the team was considering a hefty fine against Thomas for conduct detrimental to the team. Center Justin Britt is also active. He was listed as questionable with a shoulder injury.

Carroll: Healthy Thomas no certainty vs. Boys

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll wouldn't commit to free safety Earl Thomas facing the Cowboys on Sunday after Thomas missed Friday's practice to deal with an unspecified personal issue. It was the second time Thomas missed practice this week.

Here's the Seahawks' final injury report with practice participation:

Pete Carroll said Earl Thomas didn't practice today, citing a personal reason that Carroll did not specify. He said "we'll see" when asked if it could affect Thomas' availability for Sunday vs. Dallas.

The Seahawks have ruled out receiver Doug Baldwin, linebacker K.J. Wright and guard Ethan Pocic for Sunday's game against Dallas. Center Justin Britt and linebacker Mychal Kendricks are listed as questionable. Right guard D.J. Fluker appears set to make his Seahawks debut. That would push J.R. Sweezy to left guard for Pocic.

In addition to Doug Baldwin and K.J. Wright, the Seahawks could be without a pair of starting offensive linemen Sunday against Dallas with center Justin Britt (shoulder) and left guard Ethan Pocic (ankle) both missing their second straight practice Thursday. The good news there: D.J. Fluker appears on track to make his Seahawks debut after practicing without limitation again. His return to right guard would push J.R. Sweezy to the left side if Pocic can't play. Joey Hunt is Britt's backup.

All three of the Seahawks' scoring drives Monday night came when their offense was in hurry-up mode — at the end of each half and early in the fourth quarter. Russell Wilson is a fan of going up-tempo. It tends to simplify defenses and wears down their pass-rushers. "It really, really puts a lot of pressure on the defense," Wilson said.

All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner said he learned to trust the trainers after stubbornly playing through a hamstring injury that ended up lingering last season. So he made "the grown-up decision" this time after hurting his groin in the Seahawks' opener. That meant watching Monday night's game at home with ex-teammates Kam Chancellor and Cliff Avril. "I'm definitely a guy that yells at the TV," he said.

Russell Wilson showed up on the Seahawks' injury report Wednesday, listed as a full participant, but said Thursday that it's nothing serious. He said he did something to his hamstring late in the Bears game while running away from Khalil Mack and then throwing across is body. "I'm fine, I'm good," he said. "You've gotta report everything nowadays I guess."
