GM Kevin Colbert on Senquez Golson: "We hope that clock doesn't close on him. But every day he misses doesn't help." Golson has missed most of camp with a hamstring injury and hasn't played an NFL down in two seasons due to an unfortunate string of injuries.

On Wednesday, WR Sammie Coates said he's got new on-field motivation - a baby.

Overheard: "Just throw it to 17," said tackle Chris Hubbard after 17 himself, Eli Rogers, dove for a touchdown catch.

Rookie report: QB Josh Dobbs went 7-for-10 with a touchdown in two-minute drill against mostly first-teamers. He started with a few near-interceptions but finished the drive with a corner end-zone throw to Eli Rogers for the score. I'll take it," he said after practice.

Injury update: JuJu Smith-Schuster taken off the field for evaluation after a hit during running drills. The Steelers brought out a cart but Smith-Schuster walked off on his own. Was on the ground for a few minutes.

Play of the day (unquestionably): Ben Roethlisberger with a behind-the-back forward flip to JuJu Smith-Schuster for a goal-line touchdown to start 'seven shots.' The entire team wooed after the play, and Roethlisberger gave a shimmy on the way back to the huddle.

GM: Bell part of Steelers plan, but he's behind

Le'Veon Bell is training on his own in South Florida, but Pittsburgh Steelers GM Kevin Colbert insists that it's beneficial for Bell to join the team at training camp. Colbert said he fully expects Bell to be part of the Steelers this season.

With Watt on rise, LB Harrison 'fine' with role

With rookie T.J. Watt and Bud Dupree set to be the Steelers' primary pass-rushers this season, James Harrison said he's willing to fill whatever role the Steelers need him in.

Jeremy Fowler ESPN Staff Writer

Steelers' defensive depth chart for this week has James Harrison as a starting OLB opposite Bud Dupree, rookie T.J. Watt as second string.

Jeremy Fowler ESPN Staff Writer

Steelers' latest offensive depth chart lists Martavis Bryant as a starter, Sammie Coates/JuJu Smith-Schuster as second-string receivers. Eli Rogers as third string is a mild surprise, though the chart doesn't reflect the slot receiver position and Smith-Schuster can play inside/out.

QB Ben Roethlisberger told 93.7 the fan this week that though he believes Le'Veon Bell can catch up with the playbook upon return, there are new wrinkles that will take time to learn. "This year it is a little bit bigger," said Roethlisberger about the playbook.
