Regarding Sam Bradford, Mike Zimmer says the QB is back in Minnesota (was in Florida on Friday to receive a second opinion on his left knee from Dr. James Andrews) and that he remains day-to-day. Vikings will see how the week goes before getting Bradford back in practice. Even with Case Keenum playing as well as he did on Sunday, when Bradford is ready to play, he will resume his role as the starter.

Dalvin Cook said the most challenging part of his transition to the NFL is getting into a recovery routine where he can get his body back quickly for the next game. The key for the rookie running back has been relying on advice from older players, like Xavier Rhodes, on what's worked for their weekly rehab and incorporating massages and the cold tub into his regular routine. As far as how he feels following his 169 all-purpose yards performance where he picked up 84 after contact: "I feel good, man. Feel like I'm back at Florida State."

The importance of 2-1 instead of 1-2

Nine teams that entered Week 3 at 1-1 emerged victorious: the Bills, Eagles, Jaguars, Packers, Patriots, Rams, Redskins, Titans and Vikings. Since the playoff field expanded to 12 in 1990, teams that start 2-1 have reached the playoffs more than twice as often as those that start 1-2.

Keenum caught fire against the blitz

The Bucs sent five or more rushers at Case Keenum on 14 snaps on Sunday, but they pressured him only twice and didn't sack him on those plays. Keenum made them pay, racking up 232 passing yards and three touchdowns on just 13 attempts. He also tied his career-highs for completions (seven) and TDs (two) on throws of 15-plus yards.

Adam Thielen says there wasn't any pre-planned demonstration for the National Anthem. The linking of arms on the sideline between players, front office and ownership representatives 'just happened.' Said Thielen: "We're a brotherhood, we love each other, we don't care what the appearance is of one another. We just want to go fight for each other and we want to show that, hey, we're in this together. We love this country and we want it to be the country that it's been."

Vikings safety Harrison Smith, who linked arms with General Manager Rick Spielman on Sunday during the National Anthem: It's just a unified front. Guys feel different ways about different things going on right now and we just wanted to show that guys from all different backgrounds -- front office guys, ownership -- we are all in this together. Just like we are all in this together as Americans.

Case Keenum on passes thrown 15 or more yards downfield today: 7-of-9 for 221 yards and 2 TD. The completions and TD on such throws match his career high. Five of those passes and 157 of those yards have gone to Stefon Diggs.

Minnesota's defense has been lights-out on third down, not allowing Tampa Bay (0-5) to convert through the beginning of the second half. Bucs have 151 total yards of offense and have only posted eight first downs, which is half of what the Vikings offense has produced with 16.

Dalvin Cook is producing as much in the run game as he is in the Vikings aerial attack. After struggling to catch passes in U.S. Bank Stadium in Week 1, Cook is 3-3 on passes for 34 yards, including the 16-yard reception that set up his first NFL touchdown in the 1st quarter. The rookie running back also leads all rushers with 40 yards.
