Safety Ron Parker said the increased presence this week of injured teammate Eric Berry was a factor as the Chiefs broke a four-game winning streak by beating the Raiders. “He was around a little bit more than normal this week, extra, like,'' Parker said of Berry, who ruptured his Achilles tendon in Kansas City's season-opening win over the Patriots. “He was even at the hotel with us last night. It's different . . .Any advice he can give to us while he's not out there, he's giving it to us and that's much respect. That's taking us a long way . . . We feed off his energy, his vibe. Just to look at him and see him walk through (the locker room), it gives you a different energy. We do feed off his presence.'' Parker said Berry was at the practice facility late into the night on Wednesday helping some of the Chiefs' defensive backs work on their techniques in man-to-man coverage.

Andy Reid said CB Marcus Peters would be back in the Chiefs' lineup next week against the Chargers. "He'll be back in, playing and doing his thing,'' Reid said. Peters was suspended by the Chiefs for today's game, a win over the Raiders.

The Chiefs had to sweat the finish more than they had hoped but they won't complain after breaking their four-game losing streak with their 26-15 win over the Raiders. The win sets up next Saturday night's game with the Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium. Both teams would be 7-6 if the Chargers beat Washington in a late game.

Here's how the AFC West race has shifted so far today. Chiefs up to a 70% chance to win the division.

Who needs Marcus Peters? Evidently not the Chiefs. They dominated the Raiders in the first half with a defense that held Oakland to 68 yards and four first downs with a long pass play of nine yards. Meanwhile, the Chiefs scored on four of their five possessions, the other coming as time expired at the end of the half. The Chiefs will get the ball to start the second half as well.

Terrance Mitchell's interception is Kansas City's first against a quarterback since a Week 8 win over the Broncos. The Chiefs had an interception against the Giants in Week 11 against the Giants, but that came on a running back pass.

Chiefs are ahead 13-0 in the second quarter but it's worth noting they were ahead of the Jets 14-0 last week. The Jets outscored the Chiefs 38-17 from that point.
