DE Odrick released after 2 seasons with Jags

Despite signing a five-year deal with Jacksonville in 2015, defensive end Jared Odrick was released by the Jaguars on Monday after just two years with the team.

Michael DiRocco ESPN Staff Writer

DE Jared Odrick was due a $2 million roster bonus and would have had $3.5 million of his $6.5 million salary in 2017 guaranteed had he been on the Jaguars' roster on March 13. The move saves the Jaguars $8.5 million against the salary cap.

The Jaguars have released DE Jared Odrick after just two seasons with the team. Odrick signed a five-year, $42.5 million contract with $22.5 million guaranteed in 2015.

It's been a brutal run for Bortles

Is Julius Thomas worth trading for?

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday morning the Dolphins and Jaguars are discussing a trade that would send Thomas to Miami. The tight end's numbers have dipped since signing a five-year, $46 million deal with the Jags two years ago, including a 2016 season that ended on injured reserve.

Jaguars pass on option for starting LT Beachum

The Jaguars did not pick up the four-year option in Kelvin Beachum's contract on Wednesday but will have until March 9 to negotiate with the left tackle before he becomes a free agent.

Michael DiRocco ESPN Staff Writer

The Jaguars announce they have restructured quarterback Chad Henne's contract for the 2017 season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed but Henne was already under contract for 2017 and was scheduled to make $3 million.

Michael DiRocco ESPN Staff Writer

Now that the Jaguars have signed DT Abry Jones, the next decision facing the team is whether to pick up the four-year option on OT Kelvin Beachum. The deadline is today. If the team declines they could still try to work out another deal with Beachum but they would risk losing their starting left tackle.
