With the New York Jets trade to move up to the No. 3 pick in this year's draft the Broncos could be rewarded for staying at No. 5 with one of this draft's blue chip players -- Bradley Chubb or Quenton Nelson. It's possible one of the top four quarterbacks remain on the board as well. But staying put could well land the Broncos one of the three best players in this draft.

When asked Friday if the Broncos would still consider using the No. 5 pick of the draft to select a quarterback after signing Case Keenum, John Elway pointed out that Paxton Lynch is still a developing player and then added: " We have a lot of opportunities at five now. We're in good spots. We're high in a lot of rounds. As I said, it's going to be important for us to find guys that can help our football team. We'll continue to work that. We still have to go through the free agency side. Once we get into our draft meetings the first of April, than we'll start looking at all of the different ways we could possibly go there."

In the wake of Case Keenum's arrival, Broncos coach Vance Joseph was Friday asked if Paxton Lynch is the No. 2 quarterback. Joseph said: "Paxton is the 2, absolutely." That said the Broncos are still scouting the quarterbacks in the draft with some fervor as Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield and USC's Sam Darnold will be among those players with pre-draft visits to the Broncos' complex in the coming weeks. John Elway said Friday the team has about 20 of the possible 30 visits set up.

The Broncos will formally introduce quarterback Case Keenum this morning at 10 a.m. Denver time. Keenum was at the team's complex Thursday morning to sign his contract, but John Elway, Vance Joseph and others from the Broncos personnel staff were at UCLA for Josh Rosen's pro day.

The timing of Josh Rosen's Pro Day is a little clunky because it's the second day of NFL free agency, which makes it harder for teams to send coaches and GMs. Most of Rosen's contact with those guys will come during individual meetings next week. But the Broncos have a pretty big contingent here, at least, including John Elway, Gary Kubiak and Vance Joseph.

Savage, Siemian on the move (0:34)

Trevor Siemian will now get a fresh start with the Vikings with the trade today and the Broncos now have have two prospects they drafted at the position -- Paxton Lynch and Chad Kelly -- with uncertain futures. Especially since the team has signed Case Keenum to a two-year deal and the Broncos' decision makers, including John Elway, were at Oklahoma today at Baker Mayfield's pro day and will spend Thursday at UCLA watching Josh Rosen work at his pro day.

After losing Case Keenum in free agency to the Broncos, the Vikings are now finalizing a deal with Denver to acquire quarterback Trevor Siemian, according to a source.

Can confirm Vikings cornerback Tramaine Brock is headed to Denver on a one-year deal worth $4 million. First reported by NFL Network. Crowded secondary in Minnesota led to Brock only playing 51 defensive snaps in 2017 regular season. He adds veteran depth as the No. 3 corner in Denver.

Even as Case Keenum's signing becomes official Wednesday afternoon when the new league year formally begins, the Broncos decision-makers will continue to scout the draft's top quarterbacks. John Elway and Co. will be at Oklahoma Wednesday to evaluate Baker Mayfield and then travel to UCLA on Thursday to take a look at Josh Rosen. Keenum's deal will be a short-term one when filed to the league -- two years -- so using the No. 5 pick on a quarterback prospect for Keenum to mentor is still in play.

Does Cousins Deserve That Deal?

Dan Le Batard, Papi and Jemele Hill question if Kirk Cousins deserves $84 M, will Case Keenum be a good fit in Denver, should Drew Brees move on and more. Plus, Will Papi catch Jemele again?
