Interesting follow-up to center Max Halpin working out for the Rams, Ravens and Falcons -- a source tells me that his WKU teammate and best friend, guard Forrest Lamp, will be working out with him for all three of those workouts. Two-for-one deal? Why not!

Falcons coach Dan Quinn told the media gathered for the NFC coaches breakfast this morning he reviewed three years of tape on new defensive tackle Dontari Poe at Kansas City. Quinn said he liked the football intelligence Poe showed playing up front. Quinn said Poe's pass-rush ability will be about how Poe contributes to the four-man rush. Quinn likes the idea of Poe and emerging Grady Jarrett working in unison.

Falcons coach Dan Quinn addresses the media gathered at the NFC coaches breakfast Wednesday morning. Quinn said he spoke to Golden State coach/friend Steve Kerr and Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona about the disappointment of blowing a big lead, like Quinn and the Falcons did in a Super Bowl loss to the Patriots. Kerr's Warriors blew 3-1 series lead vs. Cavs in NBA Finals, while Francona's Indians blew 3-1 series lead in World Series loss to Cubs.

Source tells me that former Western Kentucky center Max Halpin has upcoming private workouts scheduled with the Rams, Ravens and Falcons. He posted 35 reps on the bench at WKU's pro day, which would have been tops among offensive linemen at the NFL combine this year.

With the majority of business completed today at the NFL's annual meeting in Arizona, Falcons head coach Dan Quinn is headed to join Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona on the bench during spring training. The connection was made between the two through Falcons assistant GM Scott Pioli, who knows Francona from when Pioli was with the Patriots and Francona the Red Sox. Pioli is also in town to join in.
