The Saints are re-signing their on-again/off-again backup offensive lineman Khalif Barnes, according to a source. They waived DE Chris McCain. Barnes has not been active for any games yet this year. But it's possible the Saints might need him for depth Sunday if their top two left tackles, Terron Armstead and Andrus Peat, are still dealing with injuries.

Panthers WR Devin Funchess returns to practice on the back of the golf cart that delivered Cam Newton. Funchess missed Monday's practice to handle personal issues. LT Michael Oher (concussion) is not at practice.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson said starting DT Bennie Logan remains week to week with a groin injury, adding that the decision to pick up defensive tackle Taylor Hart off waivers from San Francisco was related to the Logan situation. Sounds like they could be without one of their top run stuffers against Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys.

Jack Del Rio on so many of his former Jaguars staffers now in Tampa: "We had almost an all-star staff there...a lot of good coaches were in that building...I take great pride knowing that we did a real solid job then. Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi earned his second consecutive AFC Offensive Player of the Week honor Wednesday. Ajayi rushed for 214 yards in a win over the Bills and has 418 rushing yards the past two weeks. Miami is on a bye.

The last time Falcons DE Dwight Freeney faced Aaron Rodgers, he sacked the Packers QB three times as a member of the Cardinals in Arizona's 38-8 win over Green Bay last December. Freeney, with three sacks so far, faces Rodgers again Sunday. Packers are seventh in sacks allowed per pass attempt, and Rodgers getting ball out quickly with short passes. But Rodgers has six fumbles, three lost.
