What will the Seahawks' offensive line lose with Luke Joeckel out? "A lot of experience, a really good player," O-line coach Tom Cable said. "You could argue that he's been the most consistent, solid guy for us through five games." Cable said Mark Glowinski and Ethan Pocic, who are competing to replace Joeckel at left guard, will both play Sunday against the Giants. He didn't reveal which of them will start.

A sign the Chargers' roster has improved, for a second straight week the Bolts lost a player on waivers. The New York Giants claimed LB Nigel Harris. The Chargers lost safety Dexter McCoil to the San Francisco 49ers last week.

The Bills on Tuesday made a series of practice-squad moves, signing safety L.J. McCray, formerly of the Panthers, while releasing OL Jordan Mudge and DL Marquavius Lewis. That leaves one open spot on the practice squad that could go to CB Greg Mabin, who was waived from the 53-man roster Monday.

The Bills on Tuesday signed WR Deonte Thompson and waived RB Joe Banyard. Thompson appeared in one game in 2014 for Buffalo and played in 28 games since 2015 for Chicago, including five games this season. His addition casts some doubt on the status of Jordan Matthews (thumb), who was upgraded to day-to-day this week.

Giants claimed LB Nigel Harris off waivers from the Chargers. Romeo Okwara (knee) was placed on injured reserve. Okwara sprained his MCL and is likely sidelined at least a month.

The Redskins are signing kicker Nick Rose to replace Dustin Hopkins, who will be placed on short-term IR with a hip injury per source. Rose kicked at Texas but has not yet kicked in the NFL.

You might've noticed in my Week 7 rankings that I've still got Ezekiel Elliott ranked (No. 2 in PPR), because his situation is somewhat unclear. If I assume he's ineligible to play Sunday, I'd slot Alfred Morris as my RB26 (between James White and Jonathan Stewart) and Darren McFadden my RB34 (between Mike Gillislee and Isaiah Crowell).

And River Cracraft showed the Broncos he has recovered nicely from last season's ACL surgery as he posted on Twitter he has signed with the team. He will wear No. 19 and could contribute as a slot receiver fairly quickly when he gets a comfort level in the offense.

Among the wide receivers the Broncos worked out Tuesday, two are rookies who suffered knee injuries in their final college seasons and those injuries affected their draft status -- River Cracraft and Domonique Young. Cracraft missed the last three games of Washington State's '16 season with a torn ACL while Young tore his ACL, LCL and PCL when he dislocated a knee in Purdue's game against Illinois in '16. Young went to the Jets' rookie camp earlier in offseason.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told reporters he expects owners and players would meet again within two weeks to discuss social justice issues and that there was no request that players stand for the national anthem. He called the players "men of great character" and said owners told them "we want to help support you" on common social concerns.

Jaguars owner Shad Khan was at this morning's meeting between owners and players. He thinks the dialogue on issues important to players will lead to an end to the anthem controversy eventually: "I think it's a natural evolution and will get back to where it was before this controversy started," Khan said "Our players have all been standing. It's not a big deal do us; I think players are deciding it's the right thing to do - stand for the national anthem."

With the injuries to Emmanuel Sanders and Isaiah McKenzie the Broncos worked out four wide receivers Tuesday -- River Cracraft, Devin Lucien, Tim Patrick and Domonique Young. They also have Hunter Sharp on the team's practice squad. As of Tuesday afternoon they had not notified the league of any signings to fill the two roster spots created with the release of Ahtyba Rubin and Billy Turner being moved to injured reserve.

Defensive end Julius Peppers left the Panthers after the 2009 season to play four seasons for Chicago and then three for Green Bay before returning to Carolina. What are his emotions as he prepares for Sunday's game at Chicago? “Not too many emotions. I've been going back there the past three years now. I've gotten over that part of it. It'll be nice to see [Bears coach John] Fox. It'll be nice and see some of the guys that worked for the Bears. I had some great memories there, great relationships.''

Linebackers Cory James and Marquel Lee returned to a light practice on a short week Tuesday. But rookie cornerback Gareon Conley and right tackle Marshall Newhouse remained out. Look for Vadal Alexander at right tackle against the Chiefs, then, if Newhouse is out.

Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin, wearing a T-shirt with "EQUALITY" on the front, said it was important for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to co-sign their letter expressing support for a bill that seeks criminal justice reform. Baldwin: "It was important that it wasn't just coming from myself. I think, again, the important aspect of it is us having a unified effort. We don't want to be divided anymore. We don't want to continue with this divisive rhetoric. We don't want to engage with this divisive rhetoric. We want to start showing our players, the NFL itself, our NFL community that we can be collectively united to seek the changes that we want to see, which are beneficial to the entirety of society. So I thought it was important that we didn't do this as individuals but we did it as a collective group."

Marcus Mariota didn't suffer any setbacks following MNF. Corey Davis and Johnathan Cyprien won't play vs. Browns with their hamstring injuries. Derrick Morgan is day-to-day with an abdominal strain. DeMarco Murray had a little hamstring tightness but he returned to the game.

The Packers have added another quarterback: It's rookie Jerod Evans to the practice squad. Evans, an undrafted rookie from Virginia Tech, originally signed with the Eagles after the draft but was placed on injured reserve because of a foot injury during rookie camp and later released. The 6-foot-3 Evans replaces Joe Callahan, who was elevated to the roster on Monday.

The official told ESPN that the players and owners have agreed to meet again soon to hammer out specific steps and actions that can be taken jointly to resolve the issue.
