Jets practice report (early version): Another day on the sideline for DE Mo Wilkerson (toe, shoulder). RB Bilal Powell (calf) and WR Robby Anderson (ankle) worked on the side during the media window. Maybe Powell will practice; he has missed four straight practices.

Mike Rodak ESPN Staff Writer

Bills TE Charles Clay (knee), LB Ramon Humber (thumb), and G Richie Incognito (rest day) are not practicing Thursday. I also don't see LB Tyrell Adams, who was claimed off waivers from Oakland on Wednesday.

Jordan Raanan ESPN Staff Writer

Eli Apple is back at practice. He was excused Wednesday as he dealt with a personal matter. Apple is coming off his best game of the year vs. Denver.

Jordan Raanan ESPN Staff Writer

Did not see practice: Olivier Vernon, Weston Richburg, Jonathan Casillas, Calvin Munson. Vernon and Richburg weren't even outside during open media portion.

Rob Demovsky ESPN Staff Writer

Vince Biegel practiced yesterday for the first time since his May foot surgery. Unlikely he would play this week. Still on PUP. "I think it's important to get on the field and practice and evaluate that," coach Mike McCarthy said. "Not only in football but how his body reacts in the first couple of weeks."

Drew Brees on one of his all-time great teammates, guard Jahri Evans, playing on the other sideline in Green Bay this week: “Jahri's a stud. Jahri's a stud. Love Jahri. Every guy in this locker room does. He was such a big part of our success over the last 11 years. And I wish him nothing but the best. It'll be funny to see him in a Green Bay uniform after being here his whole career. But he's the best.”

Jaguars say RB Leonard Fournette (ankle), WR Marqise Lee (knee), C Brandon Linder (illness) not expected to practice today. Fournette and Lee missing second day of practice this week?

No sign of wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin as the Panthers begin practice. He left yesterday's practice and was listed on the injury report with a knee injury.

Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly has a helmet and cleats today. Appears to be a step forward in the concussion protocol.

Jamison Hensley ESPN Staff Writer

Ravens announce the re-signing of Griff Whalen, who had been with the team in the preseason. The addition of Whalen comes at a time when Baltimore's top three receivers are on the injury report. Breshad Perriman likely won't play Sunday because he's in the concussion protocol and Jeremy Maclin (shoulder) and Mike Wallace (back) were limited in practice Wednesday. Baltimore cut offensive lineman Tony Bergstrom to make room for Whalen.

Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald chats with members of the London Irish rugby club before practice Thursday.

Tim McManus ESPN Staff Writer

Ronald Darby will practice this week, according to Doug Pederson. Doesn't commit to playing him Monday against the Redskins. Darby has been sidelined with dislocated ankle since opener against Washington.

The Eagles placed S Chris Maragos on IR Thursday and promoted LB Nate Gerry to the active roster. The special teams ace got hurt against the Panthers last week. That's a blow to Dave Fipp's unit.

Odell Beckham Jr. was at the Giants facility Wednesday (I believe) for the first time. He had bulky boot and crutches, was released from hospital last Friday.

The London Irish rugby club is practicing before the Cardinals arrive for their own practice.

Rams DL Michael Brockers, on Adrian Peterson: "Man, when you got a name like 'All Day' as your nickname, it's kind of hard to back that up. And he can give it to you all day, man. If you let him get going, he can have 293 yards. I've been a part of that game when he's had 200 yards, and you just can't stop him. We just have to get him before he gets started. Get him in the backfield, get tackles for loss, mess up their rhythm."

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

Rams DL Michael Brockers, on facing the Cardinals: "This is a divisional game. They know us, we know them. They don't like us very much, we don't like them very much. It'll be an all-out war."

Russell Wilson was asked today for his take on NFL commissioner Roger Goodell saying he thinks players should stand during the national anthem. Wilson: “I think everybody has their own opinions and everything else. I believe in the national anthem in the sense of America and what it represents, or is supposed to represent at least, I should say. Everybody has their different views. For our football team, we're about bringing people together and that's really our only focus. The good thing is there is actual dialogue and I think that's really the intent of all of this is to have dialogue around what's going on in our country more than anything else and actually converting that dialogue into change. I think that change is really what matters more than anything else. It's being able to love people better and try to do better throughout that process.”

Video: Michael Bennett says, "I think the first step to even being able to even have a conversation (with the NFL) is making sure that Colin Kaepernick gets an opportunity to play in the NFL."

Rams QB Jared Goff, who grew up near San Francisco, started a GoFundMe page to help those affected by California wildfires. Seeing what J.J. Watt did for Hurricane Harvey victims "gave me an idea," he said.

The Seahawks' practice report lists DL Michael Bennett (heel) as not participating today despite coach Pete Carroll saying yesterday that he likely would. Bennett said earlier in the day that he plans on playing Sunday against the Giants. He's dealing with what Carroll previously called a plantar fascia foot injury. CB Jeremy Lane, who hasn't played since injuring his groin in the first quarter of Week 4, also missed practice today.
