Seahawks GM John Schneider told reporters in Indianapolis that the team has some regrets about how it handled the offensive line last season – specifically cutting veteran Jahri Evans before Week 1. "We probably got a little bit too young," Schneider said, adding that Seattle would like to add some experience this offseason. On the defensive side of the ball, Schneider said that CB DeShawn Shead is unlikely to be ready for the start of the 2017 season after suffering a knee injury in the divisional round. That will push CB up on the list of draft priorities, Schneider said. Asked about drafting for need, Schneider said, "In this day and age, you kind of have to."

A couple of days after signing his $41 million contract extension with the Chiefs, guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif was back home in Montreal seeing patients at a local hospital as part of his medical school responsibilities. Duvernay-Tardif was in the middle of doing a geriatrics rotation when he took a break to answer some questions from the Kansas City media. Duvernay-Tardif said he still plans to graduate from medical school next year.

Rams CB Trumaine Johnson was given the franchise tag for a second straight season, which means he'll remain with the team on a one-year contract that is expected to pay him about $16.7M in 2017. Both sides have until July 15 to negotiate a long-term deal, but unless the annual salary offers a significant savings, there's some thought within the Rams that a one-year deal makes sense, even though the price is so high. It allows them to see if Johnson truly is a fit in Wade Phillips' system before committing long term.

Bears head coach John Fox said the team needs more "playmakers" on both sides of the ball. Understandable on offense with the uncertainty surrounding the QB position and WR Alshon Jeffery hitting the free agent market. However, the Bears also have a major need on defense when addressing the secondary. Chicago must upgrade both cornerback positions and find impact players at safety. Would expect the Bears to use free agency and the draft to improve their physicality and ball production in the secondary.

Ted Thompson said he didn't take Aaron Rodgers' "all-in" comment after the NFC title game as a plea for the Packers GM to be more active in free agency.
