Andrus Peat is warming up at left tackle for the Saints tonight in place of injured starter Terron Armstead. The first-round pick from 2015 has suffered through some ups and downs in his career. But LT is his most natural position, and he has been off to a decent start this year at left guard. Veteran backup Senio Kelemete is warming up as the starting left guard.

We will see if Jacob Tamme, who leads the Falcons in receptions, is a factor tonight. When Falcons have gone with their three tight end set, Matt Ryan is 8 for 9 passing with an average of 16.9 yards per attempt.

This could be a big night for Saints rookie WR Michael Thomas with Willie Snead out with a toe injury. The 6-3, 212-pounder was the breakout star of training camp and the preseason – but the Saints' depth at WR limits his opportunities. Thomas has 10 catches for 114 yards on 11 targets this year.

The Jets are, in fact, bringing in free-agent RB C.J. Spiller tomorrow for a workout, as others have reported. Spiller was cut recently by the Saints. The Jets studied Spiller when he was a free agent in 2015.

Saints QB Drew Brees thrives on Monday Night Football. His 12 career 300-yard passing games are the most all-time, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. His 5,646 passing yards are third most. And his 43 TD passes are one behind Tom Brady for third all-time.

San Francisco 49ers OL Anthony Davis has retired from the NFL for the second time in the past three years, the team announced Monday afternoon. Davis returned to the team before training camp after a one-year hiatus but moved to guard after he was unable to win the starting right tackle job. It appeared he'd won the starting right guard job but coach Chip Kelly went with Andrew Tiller just before the season started and Davis served as a backup in the first week. Davis then suffered a concussion in practice before the week 2 game against Carolina and was in the concussion protocol last week. Now, Davis is walking away again.

The fact #Cowboys have kept Tony Romo on the 53 rather than IR leaves open possibility La'El Collins returns - depending on other injuries

The Saints need to take advantage of the big stage tonight. Their dominance in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome has faded in recent years. After going 8-0 in both 2011 and 2013, they have lost 10 of their last 14 home games. They're better in prime time (winning 19 of their last 22 home games at night). But that has faded, too. The Saints have lost two straight home games on Monday Night Football over the last two years.
