Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman reaffirmed what wide receivers coach Lance Taylor told me, that he wants to re-sign Ted Ginn Jr. "We want Ted back,'' Gettleman said. "We want him back. It's just a matter of getting there. Contracts get done when they get done.'' Makes since since Ginn offers speed the other receivers don't have.

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said he is finally caught up on evaluating the team's own players and has an idea on upcoming free agents. He noted that with QB Colin Kaepernick opting out of his contract that team now doesn't have any quarterbacks under team control. He said the four 49ers quarterbacks hitting free agency are now put into the same category with all the other free agents in how they will be evaluated and compared.
