He also said that clock management assistant Andrew Weidinger told him to take a timeout. Koetter said he wanted to call a particular play out of no-huddle that he thought could win the game.

New Orleans native Deion Jones of the Falcons playing in the Superdome for the first time ever tonight. Jones and his family were displaced by Hurricane Katrina, and his late grandmother took shelter inside the Dome.

Jared Abbrederis didn't play a single snap on Sunday against the Lions despite a strong training camp. Why? "At some point, he will get opportunities, and he'll be ready for those opportunities," Packers offensive coordinator Edgar Bennett said. "We have different packages each and every week."

"Those are the types of runs that you really love to see because it's about finishing, and that was exciting to see."

Rex Ryan anticipates the Patriots to take advantage of their uncertain quarterback situation. "I expect [the Patriots] immediately to tell us [who the starting quarterback will be]," Ryan joked Monday. "And as soon as they tell us, we're all gonna be like, 'Yeah, OK.' Nobody would believe it anyway. Nah, I don't know. We're not gonna find out until kickoff."

Even though Rex Ryan impersonated Bill Belichick to start his news conference Monday, he wanted to make it clear he respects the Patriots' coach. "I think my admiration is really for Belichick more than anything," he said. "As a coach, that's the guy. He'll go down as probably the best in the history of the game. I like poking fun at him and all that stuff, but there's no coach I respect more than him."
