Not much of a surprise given the lack of major upsets yesterday, but there were no changes in the top nine spots in current Strength of Record. The one change on this list is that Oklahoma State fell off following its loss to Kansas State and was replaced by TCU in the No. 10 spot.

What a night for San Diego State's Rashaad Penny, who broke Marshall Faulk's single-game all-purpose yards record with 429 against Nevada. Penny had 222 rush yards and scored on both a kickoff and punt return. He's the second FBS player in the last 10 years to record a rush TD, kick return TD and punt return TD in the same game (Missouri's Marcus Murphy did against Florida in 2014).

Re the clock-killing drive: Shaw said, "If we were going to score, it was going to be a touchdown. I wasn't going to kick a field goal. Otherwise, we back them up and make them go the length of the field."

Hobbled Stanford star Bryce Love finished with 101 yards, thanks to a 57-yard TD in the 3rd quarter, & didn't appear on the 14-play drive in which the Card killed the last 7:25 to win. "To outrun the whole defense on 1 1/2 ankles was unbelievable," Coach David Shaw said.

David Shaw won his 72nd game at Stanford, moving past Pop Warner into 1st alltime on the Farm. Shaw thanked his family, called the record "awesome," & let on he remembers the doubts of fans & media after his 20 losses. Shaw: "The bandwagon was completely empty & our guys fight back."

As a freshman, Harrison Phillips watched his senior teammates parade The Axe at Cal & dreamt of getting his chance. Three years later, the Stanford captain seized his opportunity. And? "It was heavy! It was a lot heavier than I expected." Still, Phillips said, "One of my favorite memories here so far." And for the rest of his life.

Lane Kiffin gets the pub, but his Conference USA title game opponent, North Texas' Seth Littrell, has done an excellent job turning things around in Denton. Littrell is 8-3 in his second season, and North Texas' 420 points rank second in the league behind Kiffin's FAU offense (446 points).

UCLA's 2-point conversion attempt is no good. USC leads 28-23 with under three minutes remaining in the fourth.

For USC, tonight's game really doesn't mean much. It's already in the Pac-12 championship game and is a non-factor in the College Football Playoff. Maybe that explains why it doesn't seem like the Trojans are playing with as much energy as you would expect in a rivalry game.

It's a party in Boca Raton. FAU makes it seven in a row and will host the Conference USA championship game in two weeks.

With Justin Herbert back at QB, Oregon scored 48 points and put up 588 yards in the Ducks' win over Arizona. With Herbert out, Oregon averaged just 15 points and 320 yards per game (five games)

A great performance by Jim Leavitt's Oregon defense tonight against Arizona star QB Khalil Tate, limited to 32 net rush yards on 14 carries and only 159 pass yards. Oregon twice picked off Tate en route to a 48-28 win. The Ducks are bowl eligible.

Bryce Love broke out on Stanford's 1st possession of the 2nd half, taking it 57 yards for a TD out of the Cardinal's jumbo, 22-in-the-box formation. Great blocks from fullback Daniel Marx and pulling guard Nate Herbig sprung him.
