Texas coach Tom Herman, on the premise of taking Iowa State lightly: "There are a lot of guys here that were there for 24-0 (in Ames two years ago). There will be zero taking of (Iowa State) lightly."

How well did Bama play at Vandy? The coaching staff named the ENTIRE offensive and defensive travel squads as players of the week.

Iowa State coach Matt Campbell on the advantage of Jack Trice Stadium, especially on midweek night games: "One of things that makes (Iowa State) special is this fan base is electric."

Dan Murphy ESPN Staff Writer

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh says Big Ten needs to establish a protocol for visiting team facilities at stadiums. "Gamesmanship should cease at the line of health and safety for players."

Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

Baylor coach Matt Rhule on QB Zach Smith, who threw 463 yards and 4 TDs against Oklahoma: "It cements to him, hey I can do this. For him to play the way he did, it really gives him the confidence that he can make the big play, while not making bad decisions. ... That's something to build on."

Dan Murphy ESPN Staff Writer

Michigan quarterback Wilton Speight wouldn't be able to play this week if the Wolverines weren't in a bye week. Jim Harbaugh said the play that called the injury was "egregious." His status going forward is uncertain for now.

Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

Baylor coach Matt Rhule on K-State: "My kind of football team. If I could think of what I'd want a football team to look like, it would be them."

Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

3-0 Texas Tech ranks second nationally in turnover margin, and has forced nine turnovers. Said Kliff Kingsbury, "That's what we've been searching for. That's why I was so excited about having (defensive coordinator) David Gibbs for a third year. We're developing a culture, developing an identity."

Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen on next opponent TCU: "They're really, really good. It's hard to win in Stillwater and they did it convincingly. The quarterback (Kenny Hill) is playing as good as anybody in the country. They look like a top 10 team to me."

Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

TCU has converted 63 percent of its third downs this season. Since at least 2004, when the NCAA began keeping third down statistics, no team has finished with a better third-down rate.

David Beaty said his staff has always seen potential in sophomore RB Khalil Herbert. But in the last two games, he's putting it together, rushing for 137 yards against Ohio, then 291 against West Virginia. Said Beaty: "We knew he was a talented player. We think this is something we can build on."

Seth Walder ESPN Analytics

After beating Oklahoma State, TCU has jumped up to No. 3 in Strength of Record. SOR is purely a measure of accomplishment, quantifying the percentage chance an average top-25 team could achieve a record a team has given the opponents and circumstances in that team's games. Oklahoma remains atop the list.

Seth Walder ESPN Analytics

Where is USC in FPI? Well the Trojans dropped to No. 16, though their rating stayed about the same. The model has been down on USC since the preseason, and only beating Cal by 10 didn't impress FPI enough to move the Trojans up.

Seth Walder ESPN Analytics

After beating up Vanderbilt 59-0, Alabama has not only moved up to the No. 1 spot in FPI but it also has a 2.2-point edge over No. 2 team Ohio State. Though the Buckeyes and Sooners also won yesterday, neither were as impressive as the Crimson Tide.

Through four games, Stanford RB Bryce Love has rushed for 787 yards on 73 carries. In the past 10 years, only one FBS back has rushed for more in their team's first four games. LSU's Leonard Fournette had 864 yards in 2015 on 26 more carries.

Washington coach Chris Petersen said on the Huskies' blocked, he was looking back to see where Dante Pettis was to return it. The intent of the call wasn't to go after the block.

For those counting at home, Bryce Love now has 263 yards on 30 carries after that 69-yard touchdown run. UCLA just can't find any sort of answer when it comes to trying to strop the run. Coming into tonight, the Bruins ranked last in the Pac-12 and 124th nationally in run defense, allowing 275 YPC

Washington QB Jake Browning: "We finally got everybody to stop talking about how we can't run the ball." The Huskies ran for 254 yards against Colorado, including a career-high 202 from Myles Gaskin.

No, people, that was not Penn State coach James Franklin Saturday morning on College GameDay, responding to critics that he ran up the score against Georgia State last week. "I got about 100 nasty messages from people that thought that was me," Franklin said after his team beat Iowa. It was actually comedian Keegan Michael-Key, impersonating the coach. "It's somewhat ridiculous that I have to say that," said Franklin, who knows Key and described the PSU grad as "an awesome guy."

Colorado wants no part of Dante Pettis in the punt return game. After returning a punt for a touchdown in each of the opening games, Pettis hasn't gotten a chance tonight.

Kyle Bonagura ESPN Staff Writer

Colorado QB Steven Montez has all the tools, but his decision-making tonight has lacked. The Buffs had some momentum after a missed Washington field goal, but their seven-point deficit doubled when Montez gift-wrapped a pick-six to UW's Myles Bryant. That one was on him.

Kyle Bonagura ESPN Staff Writer

Washington WR Chico McClatcher was slow to get up on a play late in the third quarter. He was helped off the field with what appeared to be a left leg injury.

Nick Wagoner ESPN Staff Writer

UCLA QB Josh Rosen with an up and down first half, similar to what USC QB Sam Darnold did earlier today against Cal. Rosen was 16-of-28 for 176 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the opening two quarters against Stanford. Rosen only went under center twice but seemed perfectly comfortable out of the gun or at the line of scrimmage.

Today on Tobacco Road: NC State upset FSU in Tallahassee. Duke's 27-17 win was their largest at UNC since Steve Spurrier's 41-0 ACC title-clincher in '89. Wake Forest won via a blocked FG at old rival Appalachian State to reach 4-0. The three winners are now a combined 11-1 while UNC is 1-3.
