Trace McSorley throws a strike to Juwan Johnson from seven yards out on fourth and goal as time expires. Penn State beats Iowa 21-19. What a game.

Mitch Sherman ESPN Staff Writer

Touchdown Iowa. Akrum Wadley runs untouched for 35 yards. Iowa leads No. 4 Penn State 19-15 with 1:42 to play. It must go for two. Did the Hawkeyes score too soon? We'll see.

Myron Medcalf ESPN Staff Writer

Gus Malzahn on Kamryn Pettway: "He wasn't 100 percent. We'll see how he is this week."

Mitch Sherman ESPN Staff Writer

Saquon Barkley gets up slowly after jumping to a stop near the sideline, and Penn State's collective heart skips a beat. He appears to be OK but momentarily leaves the game at Iowa.

Alex Scarborough ESPN Staff Writer

Kirby Smart says that QB Jacob Eason couldn't have played tonight because he wasn't cleared by doctors.

Michele Steele ESPN Reporter

Asked James Franklin about Saquon Barkley before the season: "He's going to do great things on the field this year. Saquon is a guy who's going to do special things the rest of his life."

Mitch Sherman ESPN Staff Writer

Saquon Barkley is over 250 total yards from scrimmage on 34 touches. He is willing Penn State to victory. That is, if it wins.

Mitch Sherman ESPN Staff Writer

Oh, Iowa, how are you doing this? The Hawkeyes have just been hanging around. And suddenly, they're down two in the fourth quarter. Dangerous times for Penn State.

ESPN Stats and Information

Entering tonight, Kentucky had led Florida in the fourth quarter or overtime three times during its 30-game losing streak to the Gators.

NFL teams with scouts on the list for tonight's UCLA-Stanford game: The Niners, Miami, Pittsburgh and Seattle. The 49ers actually have seven people listed though it doesn't appear they have that many here. VP of player personnel Adam Peters is in attendance.

Kyle Bonagura ESPN Staff Writer

This week, Colorado players and coaches agreed: Washington dominated them a year ago in the Pac-12 title game. There has been only two drives so far tonight, but the Buffs came out as the more physical team.

Dan Murphy ESPN Staff Writer

Michigan State linebacker Joe Bachie headed to the sideline after needing help to get off the field. Bachie is only a sophomore, but Spartan coaches consider him a leader on defense.

Mitch Sherman ESPN Staff Writer

Fourth quarter in Iowa City. The Hawkeyes, somewhat remarkably, are in good shape, down 15-7 and having driven into the red zone after Trace McSorley's second turnover. Buckle in.

Kyle Bonagura ESPN Staff Writer

Here comes ... Chip? Ralphie didn't run tonight because of the rainy conditions.

Adam Rittenberg ESPN Staff Writer

ESPN's "College GameDay" is headed to Blacksburg next week for Virginia Tech's home showdown with Clemson. It marks the show's first trip to Virginia Tech since the 2007 season opener. Virginia Tech has hosted the show five times and appeared 13 times, most recently for last year's Battle at Bristol against Tennessee. Clemson will make its 16th appearance and second of the season (Louisville).

Myron Medcalf ESPN Staff Writer

It's hard to say what Auburn really learned in a lopsided matchup against a team that's playing embarrassing defense. But it's clear Missouri and Barry Odom are desperate for a boost at nearly every position.

Edward Aschoff ESPN Staff Writer

Saquon Barkley has 160-plus rushing yards and is averaging 9.6 YPC against an Iowa defense that came in allowing 97 rushing yards per game. Oh and 100 of those yards have come in the third quarter alone. Unreal

Mitch Sherman ESPN Staff Writer

Iowa has done an admirable job against Saquon Barkley, especially keeping the Penn State star out of the end zone, but his talent is entirely off the charts in comparison to all but one or two Hawkeyes. He's over 150 yards and averaging more than 10 ypc as the Lions threaten to create some distance in Iowa City.

Dan Murphy ESPN Staff Writer

Michigan State came into tonight's game ranked No. 4 in the country with only seven penalties for a total off 55 yards. The Spartans have six penalties for 67 yards in a sloppy first half in East Lansing.

Mitch Sherman ESPN Staff Writer

Penn State leads Iowa 8-7 is the third quarter on a Tyler David chip shot to end a drive that began when the Big Ten's top punt returner, DeAndre Thompkins, was hurt when tackled by Trey Creamer on a return. Thompkins remained on the sideline after getting to his feet from what looked like a lower-body injury.

Edward Aschoff ESPN Staff Writer

Georgia has completely taken over this game against Mississippi State. The Dawgs have two takeaways and have limited Nick Fitzgerald to barely 100 yards of offense and two interceptions. On the other side, Jake Fromm is 200 yards and two touchdowns on just nine completions

Ivan Maisel ESPN Senior Writer

Penn State dominated 1H. Or did it? Kirk Ferentz made Nittany Lions play Iowa's game. That's why dull & plodding = tense & exciting. Hawks convert one big McSorley mistake into TD, lead at half, 7-5.

Dan Murphy ESPN Staff Writer

Notre Dame and Michigan State have nearly identical stat lines except for two costly turnovers from Spartan quarterback Brian Lewerke - a pick six and a fumble at his own 24. The Irish have turned both of those into touchdowns.

Alex Scarborough ESPN Staff Writer

This game is getting away from Mississippi State. Nick Fitzgerald tried to force a big play through the air and ended up with an interception. Georgia is in control.

Kyle Bonagura ESPN Staff Writer

From the Colorado game notes: The last time there was heavy rain during a game at Folsom Field was in 1996 against Michigan. The last time there was any rain during a game was against Oregon in 2015.
