Oklahoma State pulled away in the second half for a solid 44-20 win over Kansas. Some big-time takeaways from the Pokes' defense helped them finish that road win with a 20-0 scoring run. Big test vs. West Virginia up next.

Wisconsin has now won four in a row at Iowa for the first time since a run from 1907 to 1928.

South Carolina true freshman QB Jake Bentley made a triumphant debut, leading the Gamecocks to a 34-28 win over UMass with a strong performance: 17-for-26 passing, 201 yards, 2 TD. Even considering the opponent, impressive for a young man who should be a senior in high school right now (he graduated early and enrolled at South Carolina).

Texas coach Charlie Strong: "We knew what type of game it was going to be." It's maybe the most frustrating aspect of today for the Longhorns after this 24-21 loss to Kansas State. The Wildcats did nothing to Texas that it didn't expect.

Northwestern DB goes OBJ on this INT

Northwestern safety Kyle Queiro makes a ridiculous one-handed interception in the fourth quarter against Indiana. The Wildcats won 24-14.

Alabama has won three straight and five the last six games against Texas A&M (3-1 since A&M joined SEC). The only loss over that span came in 2012 when Johnny Manziel and company shocked the Tide in Tuscaloosa, 29-24. Both teams are undefeated but Kevin Sumlin has never run the table as a head coach and Nick Saban has only done so once in 2009. The last SEC team to finish a season perfect was Auburn in 2010 when it went 14-0 and won the BCS National Championship.

We're approaching kickoff in Tuscaloosa where No. 1 Alabama and No. 6 Texas A&M pits two of only three FBS QBs with at least eight touchdowns rushing and passing (Jalen Hurts and Trevor Knight).

Emmit Carpenter gave Minnesota its first game-winning field goal in the final 10 seconds of the fourth quarter since 2005 at Michigan (a 30-yd field goal by Jason Giannini to win 23-20).

It was blustery earlier but the winds are much calmer (see flags atop goalposts) as we approach kickoff here in Morgantown. Good news for quarterbacks Skyler Howard and Kenny Hill.

The continued emergence of freshman RB Justice Hill makes Oklahoma State's offense one of the most dangerous in the Big 12. Hill has a career-high 162 rushing yards on 7.4 per carry against Kansas today.

Minnesota probably won't feel great about needing a last-second field goal to beat struggling Rutgers at home. But that win could wind up being crucial for Tracy Claeys if he's being evaluated in his first year as the full-time coach by his ability to get the Gophers into a bowl game. Minnesota is now 5-2, and while it will obviously need to play better, it is also still alive in the Big Ten West Division.

It's quite a weekend for the state of Alabama. The Crimson Tide and the Aggies are about to kick off in Tuscaloosa. Auburn is hosting Arkansas later today. And Sunday, Talladega Superspeedway takes center stage with the Hellmann's 500. Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines.

Etta-Tawo hauls in one-handed TD catch

Syracuse's Amba Etta-Tawo makes an incredible one-handed catch on a 68-yard TD. The Orange lead 28-20 over Boston College in the fourth quarter.

Wisconsin escapes with a 17-9 victory against Iowa to take back the Heartland Trophy and set up a huge game next week against Nebraska. Badgers running back Corey Clement was a workhorse today, carrying 35 times for 134 yards with a touchdown. He overcame a goal line fumble late in the first half and scored in the second half to give Wisconsin a 14-6 lead. Iowa's offense couldn't get much rolling against a stellar Badgers defense, which allowed only 236 yards of total offense.

Lamar Jackson's day is done for Louisville. Final numbers: 20-for-34 for 355 yards and three touchdowns and no interceptions. He ran 17 times for 76 yards and another score.

Charlie Strong disappeared into this crowd after Texas fell to 3-4 with a 24-21 loss at Kansas State, UT's fifth consecutive defeat in Manhattan. The Longhorns failed to capitalize on three K-State turnovers in the second half.
