Clemson just lost its 12th game by six points or less. That's got to be some kind of record. It's a crushing blow for the Tigers' NCAA hopes, but at some point losing close games doesn't mean a team is unlucky. It means they're just not good enough.

The eyes of Kentucky will be on Mychal Mulder in its showdown for first place in the SEC against Florida. Mulder is making his first start of the season in place of freshman guard De'Aaron Fox, who is out with a knee injury

At Villanova-Creighton where seniors Josh Hart, Kris Jenkins and Darryl Reynolds will be honored. That trio is 123-16 overall, a record 16-0 in Big 5 and will play for fourth Big East outright title. Oh and there's that little national championship thing, too. Not a bad run

Virginia had lost 4 straight, but received the ideal medicine to snap its losing skid: N.C. State. Tony Bennett got a big game from freshman Kyle Guy (19 points). It was just the third time since the New Year that Guy cracked double-figures. Guy isn't great defensively, but Bennett needs guys who can score -- and Guy can do that better than anyone on the Cavs.

North Carolina clinched at least a share of the ACC regular season championship with its 85-67 win at Pittsburgh. Can claim its second straight title outright by beating either Virginia on Monday or Duke next Saturday

Wichita State's spent the last three weeks blowing out opponents and wowing laptops. But can the Shockers win a close one? Gregg Marshall may find out in his team's season finale at Missouri State. The Bears are hanging within single digits in the second half, on ESPN2.

North Carolina's offensive rebounding has to be demoralizing for Pitt. Tar Heels have 14 offensive boards, which is 70% of their missed shots, compared to Panthers 12 total rebounds.

Virginia finally getting out of its shooting slump. Freshman Kyle Guy scored a combined 17 points in last five games -- including going scoreless in the last two. Guy already has season-high in ACC play with 14 points at half, per ESPN stats and info

Finally: Virginia's seeing the ball go through the net. The Cavaliers shot 7-of-12 on their 3s in the first half at NC State (Kyle Guy hit four of those by himself), and Tony Bennett's team is up on the Wolfpack 35-21 at the intermission.

North Carolina had an assist on each of its first 12 baskets against Pittsburgh until Kennedy Meeks botched an assist but got his own tap in with one minute left. Finished the half with 13 -- the Heels had just 10 total against Louisville

Shake Milton is unstoppable right now.

NC State's main-slash-crippling performance flaws are that opponents: 1) never miss; and 2) never commit turnovers. Now State's in a tight low-scoring game with Virginia. Over the last four games the Cavaliers : 1) always miss; and 2) never commit turnovers. Bad matchup for UVa?
