Interesting note from Micah Adams of ESPN Stats and Info regarding Payne: "The centerpiece going to Chicago is 2nd-year PG Cameron Payne, who has a PER of 6.1 this season. Of the 353 players with at least 300 minutes this season, Payne ranks tied for 349th with Chicago's Paul Zipser."

One source close to the Derrick Rose talks says some members of the Knicks organization were willing to come off of their demand of a second asset in a potential Rose for Ricky Rubio offer. Rookies Chinanu Onuaku and Kyle Wiltjer are on the 15-man roster but will remain with the D-League team. Newly acquired guard Lou Williams completed his physical on Wednesday but won't be with the team until it returns from New Orleans. Houston will continue to make some moves after the trade deadline. The Rockets traded K.J. McDaniels to Brooklyn and Tyler Ennis to the Lakers, creating $3.5 million in salary cap space at the trade deadline on Thursday. A source said the Rockets plan to use that space to acquire players who have been brought out of their contracts. The Rockets did acquire guard Marcelo Huerta from the Lakers in the Ennis deal, but he will be waived.
