Does Magic Johnson have another trade in store in his debut week? ESPN sources say his Lakers are seeking a second-round pick for Nick Young

Sixers' and Hawks' trade of Ersan Ilyasova to Atlanta for Tiago Splitter, a second-round pick, and option to swap a second-round pick is officially announced. Ilysova helps the Hawks continue to try to replace Kyle Korver's ability to stretch the floor as fifth-place Atlanta tries to keep pace with the Raptors and Wizards -- the two teams right above it -- while also fending off Indiana, Chicago and Detroit.

Justin Jackson looked like one of those guys that should leave before NBA figured out he couldn't play. His development has been great.

Nets' and Wizards' trade of Bojan Bogdanovic and Chris McCullough for Andrew Nicholson, guard Marcus Thornton and 2017 protected first round draft pick officially goes through. Wizards add much-needed bench scoring and unload Nicholson's salary. Nets gain a first-round pick and veteran stretch scoring forward in Nicholson. "Bojan is a very good shooter and a talented overall scorer whose versatility gives us an added dimension as we gear up for the stretch run," said Washington president Ernie Grunfeld. "He is a proven starter that will provide us an added boost off the bench and allow us to be creative with our lineups."

Agent Wallace Prather does not anticipate his client Derrick Favors being traded before the deadline, based on Prathers' knowledge of the offers the Jazz have received. However, Prathers said he realizes that could change as the deadline approaches. Favors, 25, has had his production slip this season as he has dealt with a knee injury but remains a key piece for a Utah team preparing for a playoff berth.

The Pelicans are in the process of signing Hollis Thompson to a 10-day contract, ESPN's Marc Stein reports. Thompson is a career 39% 3-point shooter in three and a half seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers before being waived on Jan. 4.

Dealing Andrew Bogut and/or Deron Williams wouldn't pull the plug on the Mavs fighting for the West's final playoff berth. Dallas recently proved it could win without the two veterans. Williams missed all of the Mavs' 5-2 stretch that included wins over the Spurs, Cavaliers and Jazz. Yogi Ferrell averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 assists and 2.0 steals as the starting point guard during that span, which started after the rookie joined the Mavs on a 10-day deal. Bogut played only eight minutes during that stretch before a hamstring strain sidelined him for eight straight games. Salah Mejri took advantage of the increased playing time during Bogut's absence. Mejri has averaged 5.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 14.1 minutes in February, when he has a net rating of plus-13.3. "We were able to win some games without those guys, as you said," coach Rick Carlisle said. "If it turns out they're not here, they're not here and this is what we've got. If there are trades, there's a chance there's going to be some players coming back that can help us. Look, we'll see. We'll know by 2 o'clock (CT) tomorrow and we'll go from there."

Lakers head coach Luke Walton agrees with new president of basketball operations Magic Johnson that he would like to retain all of the Lakers' young core, but he's hesitant to use the word "untouchable" in case the right deal comes along (Walton used Steph Curry hypothetically being put on the trade market as an example).
