Stanton back on top of longest HR list

It was only a matter of time before Giancarlo Stanton hit another monster shot to claim the day's longest homer. The slugger did so Monday with a 455-foot long ball to center at Marlins Park, his 55th home run of the season.

Kershaw gives up 1st career GS in loss to Phils

Aaron Altherr hit a grand slam, the first ever given up by Clayton Kershaw, to lead the Philadelphia Phillies past the Los Angeles Dodgers and their ace 4-3 on Monday night.

Jerry Crasnick ESPN Senior Writer

Clayton Kershaw was sailing along with a shutout in the sixth inning tonight when he gave up his first career grand slam -- a monster shot by Phillies outfielder Aaron Altherr. Kershaw had been sharp with his breaking ball all night, but he threw one too many sliders to Altherr. Manager Dave Roberts pulled Kershaw for a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning. The Dodgers, who have a magic number of four to clinch the NL West, trail the Phillies 4-2.

Aaron Altherr's 2nd career grand slam is the first allowed by Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw in his career.

Thursday's longest home runs

Jorge Alfaro's second-inning shot off of Marlins RHP Vance Worley beat out the Yankees' Aaron Judge and Todd Frazier for the longest homer from Thursday night.

ESPN Stats and Information

Rhys Hoskins now has 18 HR for the Phillies. Thursday's was the first one hit to the opposite field.

Jerry Crasnick ESPN Senior Writer

Rhys Hoskins' amazing run continues for the Phillies. He hit his 18th home run tonight in his 34th major-league game. Hoskins has been especially lethal when he's behind in the count. He already has 10 two-strike homers -- compared to nine for Miami's Giancarlo Stanton -- and he's slugging .676 with two strikes. That's one of Hoskins' most impressive attributes; he sticks with his plan and maintains his plate discipline even when the pitcher ostensibly has the advantage.
