It took 16 innings and 5 hours and 31 minutes, but the Rays hold on to beat the Marlins 9-6 in one of craziest games of the year. Kevin Cash's attempt to close out a five-run lead with backup catcher Jesus Sucre nearly backfires as the tying got to the plate, but Jose Alvarado finally closed it out.

The Rays and Marlins were tied 4-4 in the fifth inning. It's now the 16th inning and they're still tied .. except as I type this, Jake Bauers just doubles in two runs to give the Rays the 6-4 lead. If you hurry up down to the park in Miami, plenty of prime seats available!
