Feldman, Schebler lead Reds to 5-1 win over Indians

Scott Feldman struck out a season-high nine while ending Cincinnati's long stretch of ineffective starts, and Scott Schebler homered for the third straight game on Monday night, leading the Cincinnati Reds to a 5-1 victory over the Cleveland Indians.

Reds RF Scott Schebler has hit a home run in three straight games after smashing one deep into right field during Monday's 5-1 win over the Indians.

Reds outfielder Scott Schebler homered for the third consecutive game Monday and over the past month nobody in baseball has hit more. It's not really a fluke, either. Schebler hit for power in the minors and this isn't a case of someone selling out hitting a ton of fly balls. He's making hard contact. Schebler remains available in more than half of ESPN's standard leagues and could be on the way to 30 blasts.

Revisiting preseason questions: Reds

In mid-February, we wondered if Cincinnati's rotation could maintain a semblance of competitiveness. So far, the Reds have already used nine starters, and they've combined for an MLB-worst 5.93 ERA.

Reds 1B Joey Votto has a gust of wind to thank for his home run in the sixth during Sunday's matchup against the Rockies.

Reds rally to beat Rockies 12-8, break 7-game slide

Scott Schebler's homer completed Cincinnati's comeback from a five-run deficit on Saturday, and the Reds ended a seven-game losing streak -- their longest in a year -- with a 12-8 victory over the Colorado Rockies.

Last year's version of the Cubs' Kyle Hendricks is back and his manager, Joe Maddon, is pretty happy about it.

The Cubs climbed back over .500 with a 7-5 win over the Reds on Wednesday. Kyle Hendricks pitched six solid innings and the back end of the Cubs' bullpen locked it down -- Carl Edwards Jr. and Wade Davis.

All in all, a pretty nice outing for the Cubs' Kyle Hendricks, who is done after six innings and 107 pitches. He allowed six hits and two runs. He got sharper as the game went along, inducing increasingly weak swings from the Reds. He allowed only a walk among the last 11 batters he faced.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, Zack Cosart's solo homer in the third at Wrigley made him the third player in the history of the ballpark to homer in five straight games as a visiting player. The others were Carlos Beltran in 2004, and Mike Schmidt, in 1980. Schmidt owned Wrigley, hitting 50 homers there, 21 more than any other road park he played in.
