White Sox call up top prospect Giolito

The Chicago White Sox recalled RHP Lucas Giolito from Triple-A Charlotte prior to Tuesday's game vs. the Twins. Giolito, acquired in the Adam Eaton trade, is 6-10 with a 4.48 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 134 strikeouts over 128 2/3 innings in 24 starts for Charlotte this season. In addition, the White Sox returned RHP Carson Fulmer to Triple-A and optioned RHP Brad Goldberg to Charlotte after Monday's doubleheader against Minnesota.

Monday's longest home runs

Three of the nine homers hit between both ends of the White Sox and Twins' doubleheader crack the list behind Hanley Ramirez's line-drive blast off Indians starter Mike Clevinger. Jose Osuna's 413-footer was his first career home run off a lefty.

Fulmer set for 2017 White Sox debut

Carson Fulmer, the No. 8 pick in the 2015 MLB draft, has been added to the White Sox's roster as the 26th man for Monday's doubleheader against the Twins and will start Game 2. Fulmer has a 5.61 ERA in 24 starts for Triple-A Charlotte this season. The 23-year-old posted an 8.49 ERA in eight games as a reliever for Chicago last year.

Lucas Giolito had four quality starts, a 1.71 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 8.7 percent walk and 22.0 percent strikeout rate in his past four starts for Triple-A Charlotte. It's not the easiest remaining schedule for White Sox pitchers -- lots of Indians, Royals, Tigers and some Astros -- but this is still a front-of-rotation prospect worth adding in 12-plus-team mixed leagues.

Pair of Braves highlight Thursday's longest HRs

Ian Happ may have hit a 443-foot home run, but the rookie was overshadowed by Freddie Freeman and Ender Inciarte, who each hit home runs more than 430 feet in the Braves' 10-4 win against the Rockies.

Lopez exits with injury

White Sox RHP Reynaldo Lopez left Thursday's start vs. the Rangers with soreness on his right side. The 23-year-old allowed six runs (five earned) on five hits, walked four and struck out six prior to departing in the fifth inning. Lopez now owns a 6.10 ERA in two starts since Chicago called him up from Triple-A earlier this month.

The White Sox activated RHP Dylan Covey (oblique) from the 10-day disabled list. The Rule 5 pick has been out since late May and owns an 8.12 ERA across eight previous starts this season. He'll take Tyler Clippard's spot on the active roster.

Olney: Jose Abreu wasn't traded, so what's next?

GM Rick Hahn has seemingly timed many of his recent trades to near perfection, getting high-end prospects in return. Perhaps the best window to deal Abreu will be this winter.
