ESPN Stats and Information

The Colorado Rockies are in first place in their division - already having spent more days in first than in all but one season of their existence (1995). They've never won a division title. A lot of the team's strength has come from their play on the road. They have a winning record on the road at 15-7 (.682), the third-best winning percentage in the majors and best in the NL on the road.

Bill Buckner never struck out three times in game. Tony Gwynn did once (vs. Bob Welch). Gwynn had 297, 3-hit games, and one, 3-K game.

ESPN Stats and Information

Sunday marked only the second time since 1955 that a pair of Cubs went 3-for-3 or better with multiple RBIs in the same game. Kris Bryant (3-for-3, two homers, two RBIs) and Willson Contreras (3-for-3, three RBIs) managed the feat after Andre Dawson (5-for-5, two RBIs) and Dave Martinez (3-for-3, three RBIs) did so in 1987 (Elias Sports Bureau).

For the second time in five weeks, the Yankees won despite striking out at least 17 times in a nine-inning game. No other team has multiple such wins in a single season since 1900.
