Bob Tewksbury provided one of my favorite behind-scenes anecdotes this season. He was in clubhouse during a May game in Chicago, chatting with David Ortiz when Big Papi "looks up (at TV) and goes, ‘Oh man, I've got to go hit.' He went out and hit a three-run homer off somebody, and he comes back in and goes, ‘So, where were we?'" Proof that Ortiz could do pretty much whatever he wanted at plate.

Mental skills coach Bob Tewksbury won't have his contract renewed by Red Sox. Former big-league pitcher traveled with the team and was a valuable resource to many players over last several years.

Red Sox announce promotion of Eddie Romero to senior VP/assistant GM, making him and fellow AGM Brian O'Halloran the primary deputies to president of baseball ops Dave Dombrowski. No GM will be named to replace Mike Hazen.

Now, I've found closer, but more expensive parking for the World Series/ring ceremony.
