USC announced sophomore guard De'Anthony Melton will be held out the rest of the season after an internal investigation determined a family friend received an extra benefit. Melton will have the option to remain at USC on scholarship and could potentially compete with the team next season, the school said.

USC's Metu gives up captaincy after groin strike

USC forward Chimezie Metu, who was ejected for striking Washington State's Carter Skaggs in the groin in Sunday's game, has been suspended for half a game and must give up his role as team captain, the Trojans announced.
