USC took advantage of four interceptions by Cal QB Ross Bowers - boy, did he float 'em out there - and scored 17 points in the first four minutes of the fourth quarter, lifting the fifth-ranked Trojans to a 30-20 victory over Cal today. The game was tied at 13-13 after three quarters.

How would USC combat not having its top running back, No. 2 receiver and No. 2 linebacker? Force 6 turnovers (and counting). Clancy Pendergast's group has tormented Ross Bowers (4 interceptions) and the Cal offense today. After a shaky start against Western Michigan, USC's defense has really buckled down the past two weeks.

Matt Leinart just got honored here at the end of the 1st quarter for his induction into the College Hall of Fame. He's the 31st Trojan to get in.

The big star the last time the Trojans hosted UT at the Coliseum, half a century ago? Some juco transfer named OJ Simpson.

Texas players retreat to the locker room before kickoff to boos and taunts of "Maryland!" You'd think these fan bases had the capacity to hate or something.

About an hour until No. 1 prospect Marvin Bagley III makes his college decision -- and decides whether to reclassify and graduate high school. Duke, USC or UCLA. Bagley is perhaps the best prospect to come out of high school since Anthony Davis in 2011. Would immediately make Duke preseason No. 1, would make USC the most talented team in the country, and would get UCLA back in the national conversation despite losing four starters.

Two Espn 100 power forward prospects came off the board tonight. Jalen Smith to Maryland and J'raan Brooks to USC. Smith is loaded with potential as he combines a wiry frame and a springy lift in the paint. Brooks can post-up or face-up to 15' with success.
