Virginia Tech commit Nickeil Alexander-Walker has a really smooth outside shot. Hit 9-of-11 from the corner without breaking a sweat. Hokies should be excited about how he can stretch a defense with this kind of shooting.

Koenig's eight 3s lift Badgers past Va. Tech

Bronson Koenig made a school-record eight 3-pointers and scored 28 points and Nigel Hayes added 16 as Wisconsin advanced in the East Region with an 84-74 victory over Virginia Tech.

John Gasaway ESPN Insider

Bronson Koenig and Nigel Hayes, in that order, pushed Wisconsin past Virginia Tech and into a fourth consecutive round of 32. Koenig hit eight 3s and scored 28 points. Hayes grabbed six offensive boards, as the Badgers rebounded 47 percent of their misses and crushed the Hokies on the glass.

Dana O'Neil ESPN Senior Writer

Bronson Koenig and Nigel Hayes show the value of experience to get Wisconsin past Virginia Tech. The Badgers, with that experience, won't be intimidated by Villanova in second round Saturday, either. Two very sound teams to fight for a Sweet 16 spot.
