NBA draft departures shake up Way-Too-Early Top 25

The deadline for early entrants to declare for the NBA draft has passed, so it's time to re-evaluate the early top 25 for 2018-19. With so many players testing the waters yet not signing with an agent, it's more art than science.

Kansas' 30th win of the season, 80-76 over Clemson in the first Midwest Region semifinal, moves the Jayhawks into their third straight Elite Eight on Sunday against Duke or Syracuse. Top-seeded KU never trailed, winning behind a balanced attack with 17 points from Malik Newman, 16 from Devonte' Graham and 14 from Udoka Azubuike. The Tigers cut the KU lead -- which reached 20 points early in the second half -- to six in the last three minutes and to four in the closing seconds. Gabe Devoe scored 31 for Clemson.

Kansas is firmly in control in Omaha, behind a dominating effort inside. The Jayhawks already have 26 points in the paint -- 14 more than Clemson. Center Udoka Azubuike, still working his way back from a knee injury, has given the Jayhawks 10 points in a solid 13 minutes. But it was Lagerald Vick's one-handed, follow -up jam that spurred a Kansas run late in the first half.

Kansas' Azubuike to return without restrictions

Udoka Azubuike, who has played just 25 combined minutes in Kansas' first two NCAA tournament games, will not have a minutes restriction versus Clemson in the Sweet 16.

Clemson senior Donte Grantham, who suffered a season ending knee injury against Notre Dame in January, on the Tigers' run to the Sweet 16 without his contributions on the court: "It's hard. It's one of the hardest things that I've been through... Just us dreaming about being here, it was tough. [But] you can't take something back that already happened. I'm always going to be here for the team."

DeVoe, Clemson rout cold-shooting Auburn to reach Sweet 16

Gabe DeVoe scored 22 points and Elijah Thomas had 18 points and 11 rebounds for Clemson, which closed the first half with a 25-4 run that helped it beat cold-shooting Auburn 84-53 on Sunday and advance to the Midwest Region semifinal.

Clemson looks well on its way to the Sweet 16 with a 43-19 lead against Auburn at halftime. They are the only two schools left in the NCAA tournament that finished in the top-25 of the AP football poll.
