Marshall's Aaron dies from NYE gunshot wound

Marshall defensive tackle Larry Aaron has died, the school announced Thursday. Aaron, 19, was hit in the back by stray gunfire during a New Year's Eve party in Severn, Maryland.

Confirmed through sources that Marshall is expected to hire Sam Houston State's Tim Cramsey as offensive coordinator (pending a background check). WSAZ-TV first reported the move. Cramsey has also coordinated offenses at Nevada, Montana State and New Hampshire.

SOURCE: Marshall is hiring Byron Thweatt as linebackers coach. Thweatt has been inside linebackers coach at James Madison the past two seasons. The former Virginia All-ACC linebacker has been a head coach at Virginia State and spent eight years on the staff at Richmond.

Police in Maryland are offering up to $10,000 for information about a shooting that paralyzed a Marshall football player and wounded a 17-year-old.
