Love, pair of Cougars earn Pac-12 honors

Bryce Love was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season after extending his FBS-leading touchdown streak to 11 games on Friday. Hercules Mata'afa matched a career high in tackles, and made career highs in tackles for loss and sacks in Washington State's win over Utah on Saturday. Erik Powell earned his third Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week nod this year.

FPI projects Cougs have small advantage

ESPN's FPI gives Washington State a slight edge over Utah this week, though the Cougars are 1-2 on the road compared to a 7-0 record at home this season. Utah has lost three straight games against AP-ranked opponents by a combined 13 points, including a 28-27 defeat at then-No. 13 USC earlier this year.

Falk, Hungalu, Pettis receive Pac-12 nods

Washington State QB Luke Falk made history with his 337 passing yards on Saturday, while Washington's Dante Pettis broke an NCAA record with his special-teams performance. Though it was in a losing effort, Oregon State LB Manase Hungalu had the most single-game tackles by a player in the conference this season.

Washington State coach Mike Leach joked he didn't get a good look at the fan who jumped the rail and dropped his pants on the field after the Cougars' second-quarter touchdown pass in their 24-21 win over Stanford. "I barely saw it," Leach told ESPN before cracking, "I miss streakers."

Former Oregon State QB Sean Mannion had this message for Luke Falk after his Pac-12 career passing record fell on Saturday: "Congratulations to Luke for all of his accomplishments at WSU!" Mannnion told ESPN in a text message. "He is a great player and I wish him nothing but the best for the rest of his career!"

No. 25 Washington State remains alive in the Pac-12 title chase with a 24-21 win over No. 21 Stanford. The Cougars and Cardinal both have two losses in conference play, while No. 12 Washington has one. Stanford hosts the Huskies on Friday, in another important Pac-12 North contest.
