Virginia linebacker Malcolm Cook will miss his third straight game with an ankle injury, but coach Bronco Mendenhall said it was "probable" that Cook would return next week against Pitt. "It's still going to be a race to get that done so I'm not going to present that as a sure thing, but I would say it's probable he'd be ready for the next one," Mendenhall said.

Virginia has quietly started 4-1, and can add to its wins total with upcoming games against North Carolina, Boston College and Pitt. Bronco Mendenhall's defense did a nice job today against Duke, recording a pick-six and holding the Blue Devils to 255 total yards. Cavaliers QB Kurt Benkert has thrown 3 TD passes in all four wins.
