Protective order against Sooners RB dropped

The woman who accused Rodney Anderson of sexual assault has dropped the protective order against the Oklahoma running back, according to a statement she gave to ESPN on Friday.

During Heisman weekend, Baker Mayfield said the individual he most couldn't believe he was getting to hang out with was former Georgia great Herschel Walker. "He looks like he could still play. A once-in-a-century-type-of athlete." And on Walker having attended OU's CFP opponent? "That's OK. That's Herschel Walker."

Georgia linebacker Natrez Patrick's attorney, William Healan III, told ESPN that officers found a marijuana leaf smaller than a penny in the passenger's seat of the car that Jayson Stanley was driving. Stanley claimed ownership of the marijuana on the night of the arrest and again in court on Thursday morning.

The district attorney's office in Winder, Georgia, has dismissed misdemeanor marijuana charges against Georgia linebacker Natrez Patrick, who was one of two UGA players arrested during a traffic stop on Dec. 3. Backup receiver Jayson Stanley's DUI charge was also dismissed, and Stanley pleaded guilty to misdemeanor marijuana possession and speeding.

For the umpteenth time this weekend, Baker Mayfield was just asked if he wanted his Heisman statue in Norman to be of him spiking the OU flag in the turf (like at Ohio State). "That wasn't the highlight of my career," he said. I asked him what was? "That hadn't happened yet."

Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley was quick to credit former Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops for believing in Baker Mayfield first. Riley said it was Mayfield's second Sooners game (at Tennessee, Week 2 in 2015) when he realized how successful this team could be under him. It was about the way he competed in the 31-24 win with 100,000-plus screaming against him.

Baker Mayfield says he didn't write anything down for his speech. He got what he wanted to say together in his head as he got dressed. Felt that kind of prep would allow him to better show his emotion.
