After Clemson's loss to Syracuse last night, Miami is now the favorite to win the ACC by the slimmest of margins. The Hurricanes have a 37% chance to win the conference title, compared to 36% for the Tigers and 18% for NC State.

Dave Doeren on DE Darian Roseboro, who lost his father this week: "He's here. He came back yesterday. He's practiced all week. He was [home] for the whole final part, spending a lot of time with his mom and his father. He was able to say all his goodbyes. His dad had been battling for a long time. I think Darian's doing really well. He's in a great place where people are putting arms around him."

NC State and Dave Doeren are in the middle of a comprehensive discussion about a contract extension, a source confirmed to ESPN.com. Doeren has quashed any talk about being on the hot seat after a 5-1 start and a No. 20 ranking. His current contract goes through 2019 and pays him $2.2 million before bonuses. USA Today was first to report the negotiations.

One of the under appreciated reasons for NC State's rise has been the offensive line, which has been terrific in pass protection since Week 1.
