The coaching carousel's winners and losers

That creaking sound you hear is the college football coach carousel grinding to a halt. Yes, it's all over before bowl season begins, barring a late surprise or two.

The carousel began spinning early, technically back in May when Baylor dismissed Art Briles amid the sexual assault scandal. It continued to spin in September and October with early season firings. And it stopped spinning early, too, as all 17 vacancies are filled, with Temple and Western Kentucky introducing coaches this week.

This year had been pegged as a quiet cycle, and it certainly played out with few fireworks. It means next year will be wild. Here's a look back at the winners, losers and the programs and people in between for the 2016 coach cycle.
