Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul (knee/shoulder) and wide receiver Brandon Marshall (toe) were new additions to the list. They joined wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (finger/ankle), cornerback Janoris Jenkins (ankle) and defensive end Olivier Vernon (ankle).
Pierre-Paul and starting center Weston Richburg (concussion) weren't outside at practice. Jenkins and Vernon worked on the side with a trainer.
Everybody else participated to some degree, including Beckham -- who appeared fine after being banged up in Sunday's 25-22 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So did running backs Paul Perkins (ribs) and Orleans Darkwa (back). Darkwa was inactive against the Bucs. Perkins left early with the injury.
Beckham, Marshall, Perkins and Darkwa were all officially listed as limited participants in practice. Beckham said his ankle is the "same-ish" as it had been in recent weeks after missing the opener because of the injury. The finger also isn't a major concern as he went back into the game afterwards and made several big catches.
"Football. Banged up. We had a tough game, a tough loss," Beckham said. "But, got some days until Sunday to recover and get right.
"But don’t feel great."
Pierre-Paul played all 64 defensive snaps in Tampa Bay. He had four tackles and shared a sack. His absence from Wednesday's practice is troubling. The Giants now have uncertainty with both their starting defensive ends as they look for their first victory of the season.
"It’s something that crept up here over the last couple of days," coach Ben McAdoo said of Pierre-Paul. "We’ll take a look at him Thursday. See how he responds."
